Six Must Do’s at Edinburgh Cocktail Week 2024

Edinburgh Cocktail Week is just round the corner, Friday 11th - Sunday 20th October, so we wanted to share our top six must do’s for this year’s festival to help you make the most of what’s on offer. We wouldn’t want you missing out on any of the fun!

1.    £5 cocktails at 100 of Edinburgh’s best bars

Purchasing a wristband gives you exclusive access to delicious £5 Signature Cocktails at 100 top bars across Edinburgh! It’s your passport to explore the city, sipping on cocktails, discovering new venues and flavours, and spending time with friends. See all the cocktails here > www.edinburghcocktailweek.co.uk/cocktails

It’s always best to pre-book your wristband online, especially if you’re planning to visit at the weekend. You can buy your wristband at www.edinburghcocktailweek.co.uk

On the day, bring your booking along to the Box Office at the Cocktail Village at Festival Square, where we will issue your wristband and a handy festival guide showing all the cocktails, bars, maps and events. Then it’s time to explore!

Wristbands are valid at all 100 participating bars for the entire ten-day duration of Edinburgh Cocktail Week, 11th - 20th October, so you can enjoy multiple days out.

2.    Visit the Cocktail Village at Festival Square for drinks and live music

Our Cocktail Village at Festival Square is the social hub of Edinburgh Cocktail Week, open 12pm - 11pm daily (8pm close on Sundays). Entry to the Cocktail Village is free with a wristband.

Inside you will find 24 awesome pop-up bars serving cocktails from just £5. We’ve also got a new Champagne Lounge in partnership with PIAFF Champagne, a live music stage with a jam-packed programme of local musicians and headline acts, mouthwatering street food trucks, and a dedicated No & Low Bar for the first time. It’s an awesome day out with friends!

Pop-up bars this year include: Edinburgh Gin, Dead Man’s Fingers, El Jimador Tequila, Au Vodka, Malibu, Bumbu Rum, BrewDog, Peroni, Wonderland Cocktails, Black Ivy Bar, Freddy’s, Schweppes, Buck’s Bar, Altos Tequila, Funkin Cocktails, Sips Events, Dizzy Izzy’s, Smokehead Whisky, The Bonnie Bar, Pomology Liqueurs, Madri, Mixtons, 1800 Tequila, Hoxtons, Coffee N Stuff, Herringbone Horsebox, PIAFF Champagne Lounge and a dedicated No & Low bar.

3. Be seen in the new Champagne Lounge

Special occasions call for Champagne, so we have introduced a Champagne Lounge to our Cocktail Village this year in partnership with PIAFF Champagne.

With interiors inspired by the Netflix series ‘Bridgerton’, the Champagne Lounge is styled as a Georgian Drawing Room, with bubbles served by the bottle and glass. The perfect moment for a selfie!

Freshly baked scones with cream and jam will also be available for those who wish to enjoy Champagne cream tea.

4.    Take a Gin or Whisky Masterclass at the Eden Mill Experience

Head along to the new Eden Mill Experience in the Heads & Tales Gin Bar, just a short walk from the Cocktail Village, to take part in a gin or whisky masterclass.

Masterclasses include hands on cocktail-making, tastings and cocktails to enjoy.

Book with code ‘ECW20 to save 20% off > www.edenmill.com/pages/the-eden-mill-experience-edinburgh (offer ends 20th October 2024)

5.    Enjoy alcohol-free cocktails across the festival

Not drinking or taking a break? Then you’ll be delighted to learn that we have introduced a dedicated No & Low Bar to the Cocktail Village this year.

Enjoy a menu of alcohol-free and low ABV serves from Everleaf, Seedlip, Tanqueray 0.0% and Captain Morgan 0.0% that taste and look just as good as the alcoholic serves available.

This new initiative also extends to the bars taking part around the city, with fifty venues offering alcohol-free alternative to their Signature Cocktail for £5 with a wristband. These venues are marked with a 0% icon next to each cocktail listing here > www.edinburghcocktailweek.co.uk/cocktails

6.    Elevate your cocktails to prestige

As well as enjoying £5 cocktails at 100 bars across Edinburgh with a wristband, you can also enjoy our ‘Prestige Cocktail’ category - a curated selection of elevated serves created by the city’s top mixologists and award-winning bars.

Prestige Cocktails are £9 each this year with a wristband. See them all here > www.edinburghcocktailweek.co.uk/prestige
